Kriya Yoga is a spiritual practice and a way of life. It was made well known through Paramhansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi. In the decades following the book’s publication Kriya Yoga has spread throughout the world.

Kriya Yoga: Spiritual Awakening for the New Age, by Nayaswami Devarshi, shows that Kriya Yoga is a comprehensive spiritual path that brings the fruits of meditation into every part of our lives. Yogananda declared that the purpose of Kriya Yoga is:

“. . . is to inspire the nations to forsake suicidal wars, race hatreds, religious sectarianism, and the boomerang-evils of materialism.”

The book and this website are dedicated to showing the world that the Kriya teachings are far more than a simple technique. They have the power to change lives. As Yogananda said to his disciple, Swami Kriyananda:

“I can take a few young men of the most restless sort, and let them practice Kriya for two hours every day in the way
I tell them, and, without question, in four or five years I can make saints out of them. . . Of course, they must practice in the way that I tell them. That won’t be easy. But it is surely worth the effort.”

Devarshi has been practicing and teaching Kriya Yoga for 48 years. He has traveled all over the world sharing the Kriya teachings and initiating people into Kriya as an acharya (teacher) for Ananda Sangha. Kriya gives the tools that empower each person to be a force for good in the world, rather than merely a victim of the confusing times we live in today. Devarshi has seen the proof of that in his own life and in the thousands of people he knows who have learned Kriya through Ananda Sangha.

Ananda Sangha was founded by Swami Kriyananda, a close direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda.
